GEORGETOWN, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- City of Georgetown officials have lifted an urgent request for water conservation, after an issue at the city's largest water treatment plant caused concerns Monday night.
City officials say the water remained safe to drink throughout the incident, but the conservation request was critical in order for the system to avoid issuing a boil water notice.
Customers were asked to avoid running washers, dishwashers, showers, and to turn off irrigation systems.
The city says repairs will continue at the treatment plant, but the situation has been stabilized enough to lift the conservation request.
