Isolated showers continue Wednesday, storms overnight into Thursday

(Talk1370.com) -- Isolated showers and storms will stick around for much of Wednesday, ahead of another strong to severe storm event late Wednesday into Thursday morning.

Wednesday will see breezy conditions and mostly cloudy skies with a 20 percent chance of showers, turning partly cloudy by the afternoon. Highs will reach into the upper 80s, with south winds at 15 to 25mph, gusting to 35mph.


Tonight, showers and storms will return, with lows falling into the upper 60s. Portions of the Austin metro west of I-35 and the Hill Country are under a slight risk for severe storms - a 2 out of 5, according to the Storm Prediction Center. The biggest severe threats are large hail and strong winds, although parts of the Hill Country could also see heavy rainfall up to 4 inches.

THURSDAY...Mostly cloudy. Showers and thunderstorms likely in the morning, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs around 80. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Gusts up to 25 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 60 percent.

THURSDAY NIGHT...Partly cloudy before midnight then becoming mostly cloudy. Slight chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms. Lows in the lower 60s. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

FRIDAY...Partly cloudy. Slight chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms in the morning, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 70s. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

FRIDAY NIGHT...Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms before midnight, then mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers after midnight. Lows in the upper 50s. Chance of rain 20 percent.

SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT...Partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers. Highs in the upper 70s. Lows in the lower 60s.

SUNDAY...Partly cloudy in the morning then clearing. A 20 percent chance of showers. Highs in the upper 80s.

SUNDAY NIGHT...Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 60s.

MONDAY...Partly cloudy in the morning then becoming mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 90s.
