KYLE, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- A 47-year old man has been arrested in connection with two 2015 murders in the city of Kyle, officials announced Wednesday.

Kyle Police said 47-year old Larry Simon has been arrested on capital murder charges for the 2015 murders of James "Jim" Wright and Tina Combs.

Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett said that Simon was already in the Hays County Jail on unrelated charges when the arrest warrants for the murders of Wright and Combs were issued.

Simon, who is from Louisiana, previously lived with and worked for Wright, Barnett said.

“Preserving the integrity of this case and the subsequent prosecution has been a top priority for our department throughout the entirety of the investigation," Barnett said. “Detectives have spent thousands of hours diligently following leads and gathering evidence to find who was responsible for this and see that justice was given to the victims and their families. In addition to the police that worked this case tirelessly, I would like to also offer our sincere gratitude to the Texas Rangers who assisted in the investigation of this case.”

The case stems from a June 25, 2015 check-welfare call at Wright's home, where officers discovered the bodies of Wright and Combs. The investigation and later autopsies ruled the deaths as homicides.

Barnett said the charges will be referred to the Hays County District Attorney's office for prosecution.
