AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- A multi-state search for a woman last seen in Travis County with an ex-boyfriend previously accused of assaulting her is over with both being found in Oregon, officials said.
29-year old Brenna Swindell had been reported missing Monday; she was last seen last Thursday with her ex-boyfriend, 36-year old Morgan Guidry. Since then, family members had been unable to reach either of them, and both of their phones were turned off.
According to the Travis County Sheriff's Office, officers with the Klamath Falls, Oregon Police Department encountered Swindell's vehicle around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning. Swindell and Guidry were both in the vehicle; Guidry was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant that was signed last week, relating to an incident involving Swindell on July 7. Swindell decided to press charges against Guidry early last week, according to TCSO.
Guidry has been charged with Assault with Injury Family Violence Strangulation, which is a third-degree felony.
“This is the news we were desperately hoping and praying for,” Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez said. “I’m relieved that Brenna has been found and is safe. I’m so grateful to everyone who contributed their efforts to finding her, across the Travis County area and outside the state of Texas.”
Swindell's vehicle was reported on Monday to have been seen in Colorado.
“Anytime a loved one goes missing, family members may reach out to law enforcement agencies for help," APD interim police chief Robin Henderson said. "I am grateful that APD had involvement investigating this case and that Ms. Brenna Swindell was found safe.”
