CEDAR PARK, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- Multiple Cedar Park police officers have reportedly been injured in an active shooter situation Sunday afternoon.
Cedar Park Police officials tweeted about the incident Sunday afternoon, saying a person remains barricaded in a home on Natalie Cove in the Heritage Park subdivision on the city's northwest side.
CPPD said three officers have been shot. They are in stable condition at a nearby hospital.
Residents are being asked to avoid Bagdad Road between Osage Drive and New Hope Drive; the scene remains active and police say the subject is not in custody at this time.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott reacted to the shooting in a statement. "Our hearts are with the police officers who were injured while protecting the Cedar Park community this afternoon," Abbott said. "We must never take for granted the service and sacrifice of our law enforcement officers, and the State of Texas stands ready to provide the support and resources needed to bring justice to those involved."
