AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- After more than three years of construction, H-E-B officials say their brand new Lake Austin store is scheduled to open on Feb. 15, 2023.
The 97,000 square foot store, located at 715 Exposition Boulevard, will mark the first multi-level H-E-B to open in Austin. The store will feature a two-story porch and overlook Lake Austin.
The 2.7-acre site is part of the Brackenridge Tract in West Austin, which is owned by the University of Texas. The site was previously home to a Randalls grocery store, which closed in 2019.
The newly-built store will feature structured underground parking, a "welcoming, pedestrian-friendly perimeter", and street-level landscaping that developers hope will soften the store’s impact on the neighborhood.
The store will also feature H-E-B's True Texas BBQ restaurant, a SouthFlo Pizza restaurant, and H-E-B's curbside and home delivery services.
The new store is just one of a number of ongoing projects H-E-B has underway across Central Texas. Construction is underway on a new 103,000 square foot store located at the former site of the Nutty Brown Cafe, as well as a 145,000 multi-level store at South Congress and Oltorf.
