AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- A fire at a south Austin car dealer has been brought under control, fire officials said Wednesday afternoon.
The fire broke out after 11 a.m. Wednesday morning at a storage building at Long Motors in south Austin, located at 6940 South Interstate 35.
Smoke from the fire could be seen for miles, with Austin Transportation officials reporting that the mainlanes of southbound Interstate 35 were temporarily blocked.
Fire crews were able to get the blaze under control just after noon. The building itself and two vehicles were reported to be a total loss.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, officials said.
