SAN MARCOS, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- A wildfire burning in Hays County northwest of San Marcos continues to burn Sunday, prompting evacuations as firefighters worked through the night to try and increase containment.

The Oak Grove Fire, which broke out Saturday afternoon, is estimated to have burned roughly 400 acres. Officials said the blaze was at 50% containment as of Sunday afternoon, up from 20% early Sunday morning.

As of 8:30 p.m. Saturday night, City of Kyle Mayor Travis Mitchell said the fire was approximately two miles from the Hays City Store along RM 150 in Driftwood. Just before 9 p.m., Hays County emergency officials said crews had been able to stop the forward progression of the blaze.
