WIMBERLEY, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- Five people are dead after a small plane crashed near Wimberley late Thursday night.
Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra said the crash happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday night. According to Becerra, five people were onboard the Cessna 421C; all five died in the crash.
Preliminary reports shared by Becerra indicate that the plane was traveling at a high rate of speed before it went down. The identities of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have been notified of the crash and will take the lead in the investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
