AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- One person is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle on MoPac Expressway near U.S. 183 in northwest Austin on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
Austin-Travis County EMS says the crash happened just after 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the 8500 block of the southbound lanes of North MoPac, just south of the U.S. 183 interchange.
One adult patient was pronounced deceased on the scene, officials said. Reports say the victim may have been struck by another vehicle after falling off of a motorcycle.
Austin Police reported all southbound lanes being closed from the Loop 360 exit just north of 183, south to the Spicewood Springs exit, including all of the direct connect flyovers from U.S. 183 to southbound MoPac.
The closures are expected to continue for some time while crews investigate.
