
AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- One person is dead after a shooting overnight in an alleyway behind Sixth Street early Saturday morning.
Austin Police say a 911 caller reported witnessing an altercation a few moments before gunshots were heard, just before 3 a.m. in the 600 block of Neches Street.
When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound in the chest in the alleyway connecting Neches and Red River. That man was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
There's no word on a suspect at this time. Police are looking at the downtown area HALO cameras to try and identify a suspect.
