AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- One person died Monday morning after a multi-vehicle crash in the Oak Hill area, officials said.
The crash happened on State Highway 71 around 5 a.m. Monday, near Midwood Parkway. Austin-Travis County EMS medics reported one patient pinned in the crash.
Medics were able to extricate that patient from their vehicle, but despite "exhaustive" resuscitative efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.
According to APD, six vehicles were involved in the crash. ATCEMS said a second patient was evaluated but not transported to the hospital; no other injuries were reported.
State Highway 71 remained closed for several hours as officials investigated.
