AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Police are investigating a homicide Sunday night in downtown Austin that left one person dead and another hospitalized.
Police were called to the scene at 5th Street and Red River just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday night, after a 911 caller reported shots fired.
According to APD, when officers arrived on the scene, they found one victim lying in the middle of the road with "obvious trauma" to their body. A second subject was located nearby; officers said that person was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Police said the first victim was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center for treatment.
According to APD, investigators believe the incident is an isolated one with no ongoing threat to the general public.
