AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Overnight repairs at the Union Pacific railroad bridge over North Lamar just north of Lady Bird Lake will prompt road closures this week, according to railroad officials.

Crews will begin work Tuesday night to secure the bridge, which saw a number of vehicles damaged after rocks fell onto the roadway below last month.

Railroad officials closed Lamar last week to help address the issues, but will continue their work overnight this week.

The northbound lanes of Lamar will be closed from 11 p.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. on Wednesday, with a detour to Lavaca Street. Then, crews will move to the southbound lanes, which will be closed from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday. Drivers will detour to Guadalupe Street.
