AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton made good on a threat Thursday, filing a lawsuit against the City of Austin and Travis County after the local entities refused to rescind mask requirements.
Wednesday, Paxton gave local leaders a deadline of 6 p.m. to rescind the orders and retract statements contradicting Gov. Greg Abbott's order that lifted the statewide mask mandate.
"I told Travis County & The City of Austin to comply with state mask law," Paxton said on Twitter Thursday afternoon. "They blew me off. So, once again, I’m dragging them to court."
