AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- One person is dead after being struck while trying to cross Interstate 35 in north Austin early Tuesday morning.
According to Austin Police, the pedestrian was attempting to cross the northbound lanes near Howard Lane around midnight when they were struck by a vehicle.
The driver stayed on the scene, police said.
The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital where they were later pronounced deceased.
Detours were in place for some time while crews worked to investigate and clear the scene.
