AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin police homicide detectives are investigating a double homicide that occurred on Saturday in south Austin.
APD says a 911 caller requested a welfare check on a residence in the 2300 block of Brookhill Drive, near Stassney Lane and Menchaca Road.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered two deceased individuals inside the home. Both victims had sustained multiple traumatic injuries "incompatible with life," according to APD.
An exact cause of death has not yet been released.
A person of interest is currently in custody, but their connection to the incident remains under investigation. Police have emphasized that this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
