Police investigating double homicide in North Austin parking lot

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Authorities are investigating after two people were found shot to death in a north Austin parking lot Saturday afternoon.

Austin Police first reported the incident in the 2100 block of West Anderson Lane just before 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Officials say the actual shooting happened shortly before the noon hour.

Police say 911 callers reported finding two gunshot victims in a parking lot near an apartment complex. When officers arrived, they were able to locate a suspect believed to be connected to the shooting and take that person into custody.

Neither the suspect nor the two victims have been identified.

Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The double homicide will likely be the fifth and sixth homicides of 2022 in the city, along with three others that took place over the weekend.
