Police investigating homicide in North Austin Monday morning

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Authorities are investigating an apparent shooting on the city's north side Monday morning.

Police were called to the scene just before 2:30 a.m. Monday in the 11900 block of north Interstate 35, along the southbound frontage road just north of Braker Lane.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a male victim in his 20s with obvious signs of trauma. He was later pronounced deceased on the scene, officials said.

Investigators believe the shooting is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Anyone with information is urged to call APD's Homicide tip line at 512-477-3588.

It's the city's 68th homicide of 2022.
