20-year old shot, killed in northeast Austin; city's fourth homicide since Sunday

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Police are investigating a suspicious death on the city's northeast side, in what will become the city's 62nd homicide of the year - and the fourth in less than a week.

Just after 5:15 p.m. Thursday evening, Austin ISD Police heard multiple gunshots coming from an apartment complex at 1521 Reagan Hill Drive, near AISD's Nelson Field and Northeast Early College High School.

Austin Police officers arrived on the scene a short time later. Officers found a single female victim with obvious signs of trauma outside of an apartment unit, who family members said was 20 years old. She was pronounced deceased on the scene a short time later.

No suspect is in custody, police said, with no description available. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
