AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed Saturday afternoon in north Austin in a possible road rage incident.
Austin Police say they received a 911 call from a woman in the 9400 block of Interstate 35 around 12:30 p.m. Saturday. She told dispatchers someone pointed a gun at her and later shot her.
When officers arrived, they could not find the woman, and began to search the area. Officers later found the woman in the 12000 block of the southbound I-35 frontage road, just south of Yager Lane.
Despite life-saving efforts, the woman was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Police say they are pursuing leads, but no one is in custody. It's also not clear what led to the shooting, or whether the driver and suspect knew each other.
