AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin Police officials on Thursday released a briefing video detailing what happened during a deadly hostage situation in February, where officers shot and killed a man.
The incident happened on February 10, when 21-year old Jordan Walton crashed a car into a house in the 2900 block of Rogge Lane, near Manor Road. Walton then proceeded to break into a woman's home near the crash scene.
Once inside, Walton took the woman and a 10-year old boy hostage.

The video features 911 caller audio as well as body camera footage from the two officers who opened fire during the incident. In the first sequence of events, APD officers attempted to enter the home, before they were shot at by Walton.
Later in the video, after SWAT came to the scene, Walton can be seen attempting to use the boy as a shield, when officers opened fire. Walton was later pronounced deceased.
The two officers who opened fire - Officer Jeffrey Hutchison, an 8 year veteran of the department, and Officer Ryan Nichols, a 13 year veteran of APD - were both placed on administrative leave following the incident. They have both returned to full duty, APD officials said.
APD policy calls for "Critical Incident Community Briefing" videos to be released within 60 days of an event. In this case, department officials said the February winter storm, along with "production and stakeholder feedback delays" added to more than a two month delay.
