AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Power has been restored after an early morning fire at an Austin Energy facility in northeast Austin, officials said Monday.
Crews were called to the scene off of Middle Fiskville Road around 4:30 Monday morning. Austin Energy officials said a transformer blew, causing a small fire.
The incident knocked out power for about 6,000 customers, mainly east of Interstate 35 near Braker Lane.
Crews were able to redistribute customers onto other circuits to restore power; the outages were resolved by about 5:30 a.m.
