AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- The suspect in the May murder of a professional cyclist in east Austin has been returned to Travis County, after being transferred from Harris County and leading investigators all the way to Costa Rica.

34-year old Kaitlin Marie Armstrong was booked into the Travis County Jail on Tuesday on a first degree felony charge of murder and an additional charge of theft of service, according to Austin Police. She's also said to be facing a federal charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, according to the U.S. Marshal's Service.

Officials have said Armstrong will be held on a $3.5 million bond for the murder charge, along with a $3,500 bond for the theft of service charge.

Armstrong is the suspect in the death of professional cyclist Anna Moriah Wilson. On May 11, Austin Police responded to a home in the 1700 block of Maple Avenue, after a woman called 911 reporting that she had found Wilson bleeding and unconscious. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Wilson with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced deceased a few minutes later.

Austin Police obtained an arrest warrant for Armstrong on May 17.

Investigators say Armstrong sold her car and fled Austin on May 14, flying to New York, just hours after speaking with Austin Police about Wilson's death. On May 18, officials say she then used a phony passport to board a United Airlines flight from Newark, New Jersey to San Jose, Costa Rica.

Armstrong was found with an altered appearance in Costa Rica, including shoulder-length hair that had been dyed dark brown, bandaging on her nose, and bruising under her eyes from a reported surfboarding incident.
