AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- While the 2021 online-only version of South by Southwest has come to a close, festival organizers are looking ahead to 2022 and are hopeful for a "normal" festival.
Organizers announced Monday that SXSW 2022 is scheduled to take place from March 11-20, 2022.
"We at SXSW are hopeful that once people feel it’s safe enough to return to what will be the new normal of life, there will be a real enthusiasm for getting back to the things that brought them joy or opportunity or just the simple need to be out amongst humanity," organizers said in a statement.
Organizers share the optimism of Austin-Travis County interim health authority Dr. Mark Escott, who recently said "I’m very confident that SXSW will look normal, or near-normal next year."
