GEORGETOWN, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- Three people are recovering after a small plane suffered apparent engine failure and crashed into a vacant, two-story home in Georgetown on Sunday.
Georgetown Fire officials said the crash happened just before noon Sunday. The home, located in the 500 block of North Wood Drive, is roughly two miles from the nearby Georgetown Executive Airport.
Officials said the single-engine Beech BE35 airplane was en route from Kerrville to Georgetown with three people on board. All three were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening; all three were released later Sunday.
No one was in the home at the time; officials said the home is currently vacant.
Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board were on the scene Sunday afternoon; a preliminary crash report is expected to be released on Monday, with an investigation into the crash ongoing.
