AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- An overnight water main break in downtown Austin caused street flooding, closures, and detours in the area stretching into Monday morning.
Austin Police said the break, at 6th Street and Red River, happened around 3:15 a.m. Crews from Austin Water arrived on the scene around 4:30 to begin repairs, which are expected to take several hours.
Around 11 a.m., the city said that repairs would stretch into sometime Tuesday, with the intersection remaining "dark and closed" until those repairs are complete.
