AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Central Texas' blood supply is in need of replenishing, following Saturday morning's mass shooting in downtown Austin.
We Are Blood serves over 40 hospitals and clinics in 10 counties across Central Texas, and Saturday morning the blood bank began taking orders from hospitals treating the 13 victims of the shooting.
Officials say their Saturday appointments at both their Central Austin and Round Rock locations are fully booked, but those who are able and want to donate are encouraged to schedule appointments "into next week and beyond."
"We are grateful for our community of donors for helping to save lives today and for all who will help our community recover," We Are Blood said in a tweet.
