Austin Energy has energy saving tips to help deal with this HEAT DOME that has hit the ATX area already!

- Set the thermostat at 78 degrees or higher. Each degree lower increases our energy by 6-8%. Higher Bill!

- Turn off your AC or raise it to 85 if you are gone more than 2 hours.

- Point fans directly on you to feel 5 degrees cooler.

- Shut blinds / curtains keeping the hot sunlight out. (Blackout curtains are popular! )

- Avoid using the oven during peak heat times. Microwave heating uses less energy / cooler.

- Solar Solutions for home and business too!
