AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Less than 24 hours after temperatures reached 88 degrees on Tuesday, Central Texas plunged back into the throes of another winter blast - with temperatures crashing down to the freezing mark with light rain and drizzle turning to freezing precipitation in some spots across the area.
A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect until Noon Thursday for ALL of the Austin metro counties...
While surface roadways are generally expected to remain too warm for ice to accumulate, some overpasses and elevated surfaces were already seeing trouble Wednesday evening. Just after 7:30 p.m., Austin-Travis County EMS officials reported as many as 10 cars getting stuck on the flyover connecting eastbound State Highway 71 to northbound State Highway 130, just southeast of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

Road conditions are expected to continue to deteriorate through the overnight hours into Thursday morning, with the best chance for travel impacts west of Interstate 35 back into the Hill Country.
Scattered areas of freezing rain and drizzle are expected to become more widespread after sunset Wednesday, through the overnight hours into Thursday morning.
Temperatures are expected to rise above the freezing mark into the upper 30s Thursday afternoon, with light drizzle and rain expected to continue into Thursday evening - meaning Friday morning's commute could see more issues with elevated surfaces and overpasses.
