AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Authorities are searching for a woman in connection with an apparent love triangle murder on the city's east side earlier this month.

35-year old Kaitlin Marie Armstrong is currently being sought by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force for first-degree murder in the death of 25-year-old Anna Moriah Wilson in the 1700 block of Maple Avenue on May 11.

According to Austin Police, Wilson was found unresponsive and bleeding by a friend who returned home just before 10 p.m. that night. Investigators found multiple gunshot wounds, and Wilson was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to investigators, Wilson dated Armstrong's longtime boyfriend, Colin Strickland, during a brief break in their relationship last fall. Strickland is also a cyclist and Red Bull athlete.

Wilson, who lived in San Francisco and was a Vermont native, spent time with Strickland the night of her death, according to an arrest affidavit. Investigators believe that a jealous Armstrong found out Wilson was in town, tracked her down and killed her.

Surveillance video allegedly shows a vehicle matching one driven by Armstrong outside of the home where Wilson was killed just moments after she returned from swimming.

Investigators questioned Armstrong in the case, and she disappeared a short time later. Investigators obtained a warrant for her arrest last week.

Strickland said he is cooperating with the investigation.

"There is no way to adequately express the regret and torture I feel about my proximity to this horrible crime," Strickland said in a statement. He added that his relationship with Wilson was "platonic and professional."

"I am sorry, and I simply cannot make sense of this unfathomable situation," he said.

Anyone with information on Armstrong's whereabouts is urged to call the U.S. Marshals at 800-336-0102, or Capital Area Crime Stoppers at 800-893-8477.

It's the city's 27th homicide of 2022.
