Two companies of US Army troops have deployed from Fort Hood, Texas heading to Europe as part of the 7,000 American military personnel being sent to support NATO forces during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The two companies consisting of nearly 160 soldiers are trained in heavy equipment transportation and cargo transfer.
A statement from the US Army says: "These forces will augment U.S. forces in the European theater and are trained and equipped for various missions to reinforce the U.S. European Command posture on NATO’s eastern flank."
