Texas politician Beto O'Rourke has tested positive for COVID-19.

"In addition to being fully vaccinated and boosted, I regularly test for COVID-19 while traveling the state for town hall meetings, O'Rourke said.

Sunday's test was negative but O'Rourke tested positive today. He is experiencing mild symptoms.

O'Rourke is the Democratic candidate for Governor of Texas. He has held campaign events in San Antonio, New Braunfels, Missouri City and Livingston since Friday. His campaign says he will follow public health guidelines. His campaign web site does not have any public, in-person events scheduled for the next several days.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott tested positive for COVID-19 in August of 2021. He also had mild symptoms. Gov. Abbott had been vaccinated and received a monoclonal antibody treatment.
