
DALLAS (Talk1370.com/NewsRadio 1080 KRLD) -- Officials in Dallas County have identified what is believed to be the first known case of Monkeypox this year in the state of Texas.
Dallas County Health Department officials say the person recently traveled internationally to a country that has reported Monkeypox cases. They have also reached out to people who had direct contact with the patient and are monitoring them.
The CDC is also working with the airline to contact passengers and others who may have been in contact with that person on a flight from Mexico to Dallas.
The patient has not been hospitalized and is recovering at home.
The Health Department says there's little known risk to the general public.
Officials with the Texas Department of State Health Services say the Dallas case is the first known case in the state of Texas this year.
