ERCOT is asking Texans to cut back on power usage Tuesday afternoon and evening from 5 to 9 pm.
The request to conserve electricity is because of a high level of "unexpected thermal generation outages" and "low wind generation" according to ERCOT.
They say that reserves are expected to be critically low during that time
in the afternoon and evening.
ERCOT says they expect similar conditions to through tomorrow, so they may have to call for additional conservation on Wednesday as well.
