The Trump administration is planning a new strategy to address soaring egg prices by taking a more targeted approach to handling bird flu outbreaks.

Rather than culling entire flocks after a single case of the virus, the administration aims to implement more precise measures to control the disease while minimizing disruptions to egg production.

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller emphasized the importance of trusting farmers to manage their poultry operations effectively.

The policy shift comes amid reports that the U.S. Department of Agriculture mistakenly terminated several employees working to contain the outbreak. In a statement, the agency said efforts are underway to rehire those workers.
