DALLAS (NewsRadio 1080 KRLD/Talk1370.com) -- Four suspects are in custody after a Dallas teenager was shot and killed while asleep in her bed in January.
Dallas Police say 18-year-old Crystal Rodriguez was in her home on Reynolds Avenue when a group of people drove by and shot at her home, hitting her in the back while she was in bed.
Rodriguez was transported to a local hospital, where she died of her injuries.
“It was a cowardly act,” Dallas Police chief Eddie Garcia said. “When acts like this happen, I get angry, and we take it personal. I take it personal. The men and women of this department take it personal.”
The suspects arrested have been identified as 17-year-old Josue Moreno, 19-year-old Oscar Castanon and 27-year-old Jesus Castanon, and 20-year-old Jaquelyn Garcia.
"It's very sad," says Senior Corporal Brian Martinez, with Dallas police. "This is a very sad story. But in light of the sad story, we've caught the suspects who were involved in it."
All four suspects are being charged with murder. At this time, police haven’t said whether or not the suspects knew Rodriguez. There is no word on motive, either.
