
A gunman opened fire at the Tri-State Fair and Rodeo in Amarillo Monday night wounding three people including a firefighter and a Sheriff's deputy.
At this time investigators don't know why the unidentified male suspect did it.
Officials say the gunman was hit by return fire and has life-threatening wounds. The deputy, the firefighter and a bystander were rushed to the hospital. Their wounds are not life threatening.
Potter County Sheriff Brian Thomas not identify any of the victims or the suspect. He did not offer a motive for the shooting, which is being investigated by the Texas Rangers.
