The death of a Fort Worth man on trial for sexual assault of a little girl has now been ruled a suicide.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner confirms that Gabriel Gomez was found hanged at his home last week. He was pronounced dead at Harris Methodist in Fort Worth the same morning his trial was to resume.
The charge leveled against Gomez was "continuous sexual abuse of a child younger than 14." Charging documents accused Gomez of repeatedly sexually assaulting the girl over a period of more than two years.
