A North Texas man pleads guilty to scamming the government out of more than two-million dollars.
Court records show 51-year-old Anthony Floyd of Kennedale was a tax preparer. Federal prosecutors say that he recruited clients outside of popular discount stores, he then filed tax returns using their personal information.
Prosecutors say Floyd also submitted false information to boost their refunds without letting his clients see the paperwork. He then deposited the refunds into his own personal account.
Prosecutors say he did that hundreds of times and got $2.6 million.
A jury had already been seated for his trial on 10 charges of tax fraud when he suddenly switched his plea to "guilty". He could face up to 30 years in prison.
