AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Just hours into President Joe Biden's administration, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is setting himself up to be what he calls a "major check" against the new administration's "lawlessness".
Paxton took to Twitter Wednesday shortly after Biden was sworn into office, offering congratulations, before switching to a more ominous tone.
"I promise my fellow Texans and Americans that I will fight against the many unconstitutional and illegal actions that the new administration will take, challenge federal overreach that infringes on Texans' rights, and serve as a major check against the administration's lawlessness," Paxton wrote.
During the Obama administration, Paxton's office led 27 lawsuits against the federal government.
Paxton ended his statement with "Texas First! Law & order always!"
