Romanian national accused in several crimes, including in North Texas

A Romanian national is being held by the Department of Homeland Security on multiple charges related to crimes in North Texas as well other places in the United States and internationally.

Plano Police were alerted to an ATM machine not working but an investigation found that a suspect had placed a cash-trapping device over the cash dispenser allowing him to steal money.

Officer Jerry Minton with Plano PD says the suspect is wanted in several locations.

"He was wanted out of Hungary by the Hungarian Police for drug offenses," Officer Minton said. "And also out of Canada for 56 warrants for the same type of fraud."

Ionut Aurel Iova was arrested in the Houston area by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Iova is being held in the Montgomery Processing Center in Conroe, Texas.
