Two San Antonio parents are suing Apple, saying their son's eardrums were "torn apart" by a pair of Apple earbuds he was wearing when an Amber Alert interrupted the program he was watching on his iPhone.
Reports say Ariani Reyes and Carlos Godoa filed their suit in Northern California where Apple is headquartered.
The parents claim the boy's hearing was permanently damaged.
The couple's lawsuit claims other customers have complained about the same defect that reportedly causes a sudden and surprising increase in volume when an Emergency Alert goes off.
