AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- The Public Utility Commission of Texas is down to just one member because of another resignation.

Monday, Lubbock native Shelly Botkin informed Texas Governor Greg Abbott she is stepping down after serving less than three years on the Commission. Her term was not due to expire until 2025.

Botkin follows PUC chair DeAnn Walker who resigned last week after taking heated criticism over the PUC's role in the Texas power grid failure that left millions of us in the dark and cold during last month's cold snap.

The two resignations leave only Commissioner Arthur D'Andrea in place, who Abbott elevated to the chairman role last week.

It will be up to the Governor to appoint replacements for Walker and Botkin.
