A Texas tradition is back.
In another sign things are returning to normal, officials with the State Fair of Texas have announced that the time-honored tradition will be back in action this fall.
The fair had to take a hiatus last year because of the pandemic, but a modified, drive-thru version of the fair's most iconic festivities still happened. Ticket holders got the chance to cruise through the fairgrounds, munch on fair favorites, play a game or two on the Midway and snap a photo with Big Tex himself, who dawned a face mask fit for a giant.
Even though the fair will take place in person this year, officials say it won’t be quite the same. COVID-19 safety measure will be in place. Officials say they’ll release more information about what those safety measures will look like the closer it gets to opening day.
