Texans react to Supreme Court ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade

With the US Supreme Court ruling to overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade abortion law from the 1970's, the Texas trigger law will takes effect shortly making abortion illegal in the state of Texas.

The Texas trigger law was passed by the legislature last session. It is the law that will affect Texas in 30 days.

Immediately following the much awaited Supreme Court ruling, Texas politicans reacted.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said, "The Supreme Court correctly overturns Roe v. Wade & reinstates the right of states to protect innocent, unborn children. Texas is a pro-life state. We will ALWAYS fight to save every child from the ravages of abortion."

Candidate for Governor, Robert 'Beto' O'Rourke tweeted saying, "We will overcome this decision in Texas by winning political power."

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said, "The U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey in today’s Dobbs decision, bringing an end to the ‘right’ to abortion. Today I am closing all my offices as a memorial to the millions of lives lost due to abortion."
