AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has tested positive for COVID-19 a second time, his office announced Sunday.

Patrick's positive test came on Saturday, according to a release from his office. He is experiencing mild symptoms, and his campaign says he will continue to work from home and return to public events next week.

His first bout with COVID-19 came about eight months ago.

Patrick's positive test came just a few days after President Biden announced his own positive test. Both were fully vaccinated and had received booster shots. President Biden also has “mild symptoms” including body aches and a sore throat.

Saturday's positive test comes as Patrick is in the midst of a re-election campaign, where he has repeatedly pushed back against the concept of a nationwide vaccine mandate.
