SAN ANTONIO (Talk1370.com/NewsRadio 1080 KRLD) -- The all-Republican Texas Supreme court has temporarily blocked San Antonio’s mask mandate.

It's the latest ruling in the Governor's battle to stop local governments and school districts from imposing their own rules concerning masks.

Attorney General Ken Paxton is appaluding the ruling saying the justices sided with the law, which Paxton insists gives the Governor the authority over mask mandates.

The court decided the status quo has been gubernatorial oversight in decisions regarding the public during the on going pandemic, and today's decision keeps with the status quo.

Paxton warns mask mandates in Texas are illegal and he says entities that try to impose such mandates will face legal action.
