Tropical Storm Harold is expected to make landfall along the lower Texas coast around mid-day today and it's going to be a real rain maker for some really parched parts of the state.

Tropical Storm Warnings are posted from Galveston to Brownsville. Some coastal districts, notably Corpus Christi schools, are opening two hours late in view of possible inclement weather.

Coastal cotton farmers are hurrying to harvest their fields because heavy rain will do heavy damage.

Governor Abbott has ordered the Texas Division of Emergency Management to deploy state resources to the impact zone and to activate the Texas State Emergency Operations center to Level Two.

Harold is expected to bring torrential rain, flooding, tropical storm force winds and dangerous rip currents up and down the Texas coast. Hard rain could reach as far inland as Central Texas.

Meanwhile, Flood Watches are in place for about a half-dozen West Texas counties due to the remnants of Tropical Storm Hillary moving in from the west.
