AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- A disturbance being monitored by the National Hurricane Center in the Caribbean could pose a threat to the Texas coast early next week, forecasters say.

Forecasters say the probability that the system will intensify into a tropical depression over the next five days has risen from 50% yesterday to 80% today.

While it's still extremely early to try and predict where this system may end up, a number of computer models are currently in agreement that the Texas coastline could be impacted.

A tropical storm or even category 1 hurricane that makes landfall along the Texas coast could have significant impacts for Central Texas.
